Types of Proofing
Muss Stop
A uniquely formulated proofing material, easy to mould around piping and wiring. Hard for rodents to chew through. Ideal in the prevention of mice, rats and squirrels
Sand And Cement
This is used predominantly in outside areas, used to fill large holes and is highly effective in the prevention of rats and mice.
Shingle
Predominantly used in the prevention of rats. Very good for filling holes externally, especially when sand and cement cannot be used. For example if needed around water pipes and drains.
Air Brick Covers And Bristle Strips
Two very good products that can be used to prevent pests, these can be put in place regardless of previous pest issues as they can be installed at the entry points and at external areas of the building.
Mesh
Very good preventative measure for both internal and external areas to block out rodents. Can also be used to prevent pigeons to enter loft spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions for our Pest Prevention Service
Why is pest prevention important?
Prevention is always better than cure. Even after treatment, pests can return if entry points are not properly sealed. Effective pest prevention stops infestations before they start, saving you time, stress, and money.
What types of pest proofing do you offer?
At QuicKil, we use a range of professional proofing materials and methods, including Muss Stop, sand and cement, shingle, mesh, and air brick covers or bristle strips, all designed to block rodents, insects, and birds from gaining entry.
Do you provide pest prevention for both homes and businesses?
Yes. Our pest prevention services cover both residential and commercial properties. Whether it’s a family home, restaurant, shop, or office, we can identify and seal all potential ingress points to keep your space pest-free.
Can I get a free survey or advice on pest prevention?
Yes. We offer free, no-obligation advice and surveys to assess your property and recommend effective preventative measures tailored to your needs.
What can I do to help prevent pests myself?
Good housekeeping and regular cleaning routines are a strong first line of defence. However, pests can still find hidden access points. That’s why professional proofing — like sealing gaps, covering vents, and using rodent-resistant materials — is key to long-term pest prevention.
